After years of minimal investment, Ipswich Town suffered back to back relegations and found themselves in League Two for the first time in their history.
Determined to halt the slide any further, a fans consortium bought the club from the previous owner and managed to convince ex-Brentford and Nottingham Forest boss Mark Warburton to take over as the clubs new manager.
Warburton was charged with the task of reversing the fortunes of the former UEFA Cup winners and moving them back up the divisions. A 10 year blueprint was announced, with the ultimate aim being a return to the Championship within 5 seasons and the Premier League within 10 years.
The Tractor Boys strategy was a strong emphasis on promoting players through the Portman Road academy, in addition to shrewd signings of lower league gems that could also progress through the divisions and, where necessary, provide a significant sell on value.
As the club embarked on its debut season in the fourth tier, the appointment of the new created a rare wave of optimism that the dark cloud over IP1 may finally subside.

Career mode is tough as Ipswich, but double relegation???
What level you got it on?
Legendary. I’ve cleared out the entire squad bar the kids basically and created the likes of Folami, Knight, Hayes and Woolfenden. Ability wise I’m pretty much the worst side in League Two.

I should add that the starting eleven is average for the division, I just have 16 players in total and the reserves are not good at all, so I'm bringing through a number of kids each month. The board have set me a target of promotion within 3 seasons, so they clearly don't expect much and Martin Tyler and Alan Smith are constantly saying how rubbish we are and how it's a shock we are near the top!

Need to draft in some journeymen on loan
I'm trying to stick entirely with youths if I can at least for the first season. Pretty confident I can finish Top 3, but I have my eye on Matt Bloomfield in January if a bit of experience is needed. I have Downes as captain!
Wait...have you amended the game so you start in League 2?
I play career mode Fifa, got good games going with Town and Viking Stavanger at minute. Jannik Pohl, Danish Striker / Winger from Aalborg for around £250k has been my star signing on both saves. Dylan Louiserre from Le Havre is quite the midfield dynamo too.
