The people playing the game are Jews. It's a whole 'Jewish conspiracy' thing where they run the world (illuminati). They are playing it on the backs of ordinary people. I did my dissertation on Der Stürmer. It wouldn't look out of place in there.

Can't defend it.

Ta - i’d missed that before I replied.

Whoa!

This is the problem. It's other people suggesting that this means that which creates the anti-semitism. There's PLENTY of grounds for criticising white, male bankers for the state of the world without it being a code for anything else.

I'm sure the the stereotypically yiddish features on the 'players' was pure coincidence too.

Corbyns comment was clearly aimed at the tag line for the mural which starts with ‘Tomorrow they want to buff my mural’. I’m pretty sure that’s why Corbyns reply starts with ‘why?..’

Is it? I couldn't work out whether that was in response to the tweet above or one below we can't see (don't understand Twitter ).

I wasn't sure what the tag line was on about either tbh. Buff as in rub out then?

Feck it, I don't know much do I? My money's on a young spikey momentum person writing that - Corby wouldn't have worked all that out.

All pretty tenuous stuff. And most people seem to be focusing on the graffiti not what Corbyn may or may not have meant.

Fair point that it is't conclusive but to me it's fairly clear. Looks just like the stuff in Der Stürmer and fits the stereotypical antisemitic areas of Jews being greedy, selfish, woshipping money etc.

If his target was bankers I think it would have been drawn differently. Just my opinion. No desire to throw Corbyn under the bus but can't pretend I don't see it.

I think we can definitely say it was a very bad idea of Corbyn to defend it. But then again, he could well have not been aware.

You have to question why people are trawling through Facebook to find stuff like this. I mean, I do, anyway.

the mural was offensive, used antisemitic imagery, and has no place in our society. how can anyone possibly argue with that.

Have you seen his other stuff?

By your rationale, in this updated version with a different style, he thinks the USA and the founding fathers are a Jewish conspiracy. Old white men (especially in cartoons) have distinctive noses, no racial stereotyping needed or intended.

Also his new "Jews" at the table look a mixed bag. I think the one on the right may well be Jewish but it would be discriminatory not to include one.

Post a picture to compare. I didn't see anything from the Nazi propaganda side apart from the subject of control from outside.

For me the big difference from Nazi propaganda is that in Nazi propaganda they expressed ridiculously grotesque and evil features (often with a Star of David or Jude added to make the point).

Here we have cartoonish old white bankers as a valid target ... I'm worried that people are searching a little hard to make the connection based on their own needs and prejudices.

corbyn says you're wrong:

“I sincerely regret that I did not look more closely at the image I was commenting on, the contents of which are deeply disturbing and anti- Semitic. I wholeheartedly support its removal. I am opposed to the production of anti-Semitic material of any kind. and the defence of free speech cannot be used as a justification for the promotion of anti-Semitism in any form. That is a view I’ve always held.”

Blind to anti semitism? That's quite the leap considering he started an investigation into it in the party he is leader of. Blind to the anti antisemitism in this one particular image, yes. And of course, his detractors tracked it down. For obvious reasons.

He brings up one point that is unintentionally bang on the money: Conflation is key in all of this.

None of this exists without making a few huge leaps to suggest that Corbyn or the left hate or even dislike Jewish people. That's the righteous anger at the middle of this but the evidence itself is pretty weak - given a lot of Jewish people have no problem voicing the same opinions.

It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to see how this sort of thing is an obvious campaign. This stuff sticks and gets very messy very easily. I'd even call it Plan B after the communist stuff didn't really work.

FWIW I don't even think Labour with or without Corbyn is the answer. I'm just looking on from a generic social democrat perspective.

The minute he gets thrown back to the back benches the truth will out about him and Momentum.

I'd wager that there is rank bullying, antisemitic and more going on behind the scenes.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
