Question about metal detectors:
I need to recover metal temperature loggers which are about the size of a button (and a bit thicker). Would a standard metal detector be able to find these? The loggers are deployed in grassland/moorland. I take a grid reference where the loggers are deployed, but the accuracy of the grid ref is up to +/-5m in lat and long, and refinding the data loggers is very difficult - previously I marked the sites with a cane a fixed bearing/distance away, but I don't want to mark the sites this time.
Would a metal detector do the job, and would a cheapo one from Argos suffice, or do I need a better one.
