Ipswich Town are back where we were in April 2009.

Somewhat frustrated at not having capitalised on reaching the play-offs a few seasons before, performances having disappointed, but with the club stable, a decent crop of players and not generally in a bad position.

One poor decision - Roy Keane - has cost us the best part of a decade.

If only we were, we had a financial advantage to much of the division then that should have given us a realistic shout of promotion. The club might be in the same place but the division as a whole isn't.

That's the other thing which was squandered, as well as the time.

unless evans is now prepared to loosen the purse strings then we still won't have recovered from the keane legacy.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show
