I heard that over 70% of fans wanted him gone on TWTD and the same in the local paper - both with a larger statistical sample than some post-election opinion polls are often called - but they might have not been careful what they wished for. Simpletons probably hoping for: attractive football; good cutomer relationships; not wishing to urinate in or out of any tent - all that kind of peripheral snowflakery.
Given also that Mick's unwavering fans point to his honesty - does it count for nothing that he himself as said over and over that fans can think and say what they like, but he feels this is a natural end for him. Using such phrases as "standing still" (and clearly not blaming himself for that) he has repeatedly claimed that the desire to go was his alone and unrelated to what we want or don't want. It's a new era for him and us. I bet he's looking forward to it and so should we be. [Post edited 31 Mar 2018 12:33]

Personally, I've found the permanent self praise much more grating than the stick he has dished back to some of our support.
The "I'm great me" routine makes him seem a bit of a nob (Every person I have come across in life who speaks about themselves so praisingly has been), whereas I can understand why he has lashed out sometimes, even if I think it is a really unprofessional and ill advised thing to do. |  |
