Apart from a stew or hot pot type thing what can you cook in it? Please don't say an egg

Curry, stews, casseroles, soups, ribs, pulled pork etc. To be honest i've only ever cooked stews in mine. Coming home to a decent hot meal is superb. [Post edited 5 Apr 2018 20:24]

Meat. Shoulder of lamb with some mint seasoning, coat with water + stock, cook for 8 hours. End up with basically roast lamb that just falls off the bone. Oh and chilli in it is usually pretty damn good. [Post edited 5 Apr 2018 20:30]

What happens about the dumplings, don't they get büggered?

You have to stick them in for a bit right at the end, and they don;t really get that crunchy outside like you would in the oven, in my experience. Other things you can do... slow cooked meth.

You can put those in when you get home. You will probably never let me forget this comment but you can microwave Aunt Bessies dumplings...they are much better than you would imagine. Nothing compared to the homemade ones my mum makes but decent... Try them before attacking me!

I think this is my problem. Roast lamb should be carved and pink.

Ordinary, cheap joints become tasty melt in the mouth morsels when slow cooked.

Cooking tip for you all on 20:50 - Apr 5 with 5224 views | Gogs | I've been using these things for the last 2 or 3 years. They are marvellous. Only question mark is over the biodegradability issue, which i guess they aren't. But this is somewhat offset by the fact I don't have to spend ages using a fair bit of water and detergent scrubbing out the slow cooker. I'd suggest to anyone thinking of buying a slow cooker to do so and also to get some liners. But don't fill it as much as the one in the picture on the packet
