Your top 5 managerial choices from these 20 realistic potential candidates 09:23 - Apr 6 with 19435 viewsDanFord

Rather than people just listing their first choice given there are so many to choose from I thought I'd come up with a scoring system and add up everyone's choices to find the top overall choice from this list:

Tony Mowbray
Nigel Pearson
Alan Pardew
Steve McClaren
Mark Warburton
Jaap Stam
Graham Alexander
Shefki Kuqi
John McGreal
Maurice Steijn
Paul Cook
Derek Adams
Paul Hurst
Danny Cowley
Nathan Jones
Gareth Ainsworth
Jack Ross
Derek McInnes
Frank Lampard (included as many keep mentioning him)
George Burley (included as many keep mentioning him)

In order of preference for me would be:

1 Mark Warburton (Worth 10 points)
2 Maurice Steijn (Worth 5 points)
3 Tony Mowbray (Worth 3 points)
4 Paul Hurst (Worth 2 points)
5 Paul Cook (Worth 1 point)

I'll do a total after 50 replies and then after 75 and 100 and so on.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Hard to make a list of 5, realistically I'd take all of those other than Pardew, Stam and Pearson.

Five very clear preferences have already emerged

Mowbray, Warburton, Steijn, Jones and Hurst. They currently all have between 76 and 133 points. The manager in 6th place is Cook with 51 and then it's Adams with 25.

1 Mogga (10 pts)
2 McGreal or Jones (4 pts each - sorry for being a pain on that one but I don't think I can separate them)
4 Warburton (2 pts)
5 Steijn (1 pt)

Whoever gets it, I will support for as long they are the manager or until they have done something that makes their position truly untenable. That said, there would be a few on the list I would be very disappointed to see here.

I also would have had Clarke as no 1 but he’s not there. Well done on an interesting poll though and fair dos for collating everything.

No idea whatsoever why Darryl Clark isn't on that list, he'd be top of the pile by a mile for me.

Of them -

1- Paul Hurst
2 - Mark Warbuton
3 - Paul Cook
4 - Maurice Steijn
5 - Struggling - the others are not for me at all. For no real reason other than a gamble, Kuqi.
