This. I'm sick of 'be careful what you wish for' from other fans/pundits. There's only so much of it you can watch. It was the same with Pulis at WBA, and people already want Allardyce out of Everton. There's only so much pragmatic football you can tolerate. |

West Brom had a slightly above average wage bill in the Premier League under Pulis and were still playing percentage football which was fine for most of their fans when all is well, it hadn't been working for a while though Pulis had only won a couple of games since early 2017. His time was done there and Pardew's appointment did nothing to lift the situation.
MMc didn't get the luxury of an above average wage bill budget but his time was done here too. I wish him well and hope to have a good day at Forest.

MM has done a decent job, no one has really disputed that
Evans has a lot to answer for but treading water whilst playing dull football with no real excitement and not even a cup run to mention has really begun to grate.
MM hasn't helped the situation by disenfranchising the fans and continued on his stubborn ways.
There's a certainly a level of irony from the Norwich Crew criticising Ipswich fans for being impatient when the Budgies themselves have a history of going into meltdown very quickly. They have been so lucky not to totally implode with their more regular managerial appointments. You do wonder how long Farke will last next season if he continues to perform as he has done this season for example. |  |

He said we were deluded. that's not right. We know what we are, we just want to see if there is an alternative after 5 years of no progress.
The point here that is annoying, is that there is this viewpoint, that if the "expected" status of your team is position 18 and you're in 17th, then the manager is doing well. But you know what, the more telling thing is that in the early parts of his tenure, we were pushing playoffs, and now we;re not. He's never had any money, so that hasn't changed, but he's doing less well with what he had, than he did at the beginning. We've had to sit through that decline... we're not "deluded", or "impatient". We're probably the most patient set of fans in the country.
There seems to be an expectation that as fans we should accept that we are a mid-table champs club, and be happy with that. But coming from "football pundits", that shows a massive blind spot about what supporting a team is all about. If we can't dream of something better, why f***ing bother? Let’s see. I’m sure if a new manager comes in and we are doing well then what MM has achieved will be forgotten by the so called experts. At the moment, it is still raw and people that have rarely watched Ipswich under MM so don’t really know make assumptions. It’s not a decision that has been made lightly by the club, but Sutton does speak a load of crap most of the time. He needs to concentrate more on his own mob up the road, they’re in more trouble than we are! |
