few bits on here from their view....

bit that stuck out for me, is he lives on teeside, kids at school there..... wouldn't be ideal, but then joe did hear this job interested TM, so maybe that's them (rovers fans) wishful thinking.

Yer, I read that the other week about him still living on teeside, and wondered whether that would hinge on him wanting to come back here (am I correct in saying his wife/partner is from this area?).

It's interesting that they don't think were that much of a pull considering his affiliation with the club, and as the previous poster mentioned his wife is from this area.

I get club for club there's not a huge different (players, budget etc.) but that's not the reason. Also one positive of Evans is he would give Mowbray time, he never knows when the owners will pull the trigger there.

I think people are massively over-playing the fact his wife is from Ipswich.

They haven't lived here for well over 10 years, and she would know full well that moving around comes with the territory if you marry someone in the football industry.

Thought I saw someone say that before, so that might help our cause as well (as TM and MV come as a package).

That doesn't mean you don't want to come home if the opportunity presents itself.

Yes, but the chance to go home, to a club, where essentially if he does well could be for a very long time, would be very tempting for both of them.

Interesting to read their, mostly, civilised exchanges. Overall, they seem to think it unlikely that Mogga would want to come here, but what do any of us know?

Posters trying to balance his / his wife's affection, or not, for this area; others trying to prise open his thoughts on his current job stability - even his prospective grandchildren on Teeside weighing in the balance, apparently.

Job moves and location choices for any of us are always an attempt to balance knowns and unknowns. Who, when buying a new car, has not weighed its performance, looks fuel consumption - and still come down on the side of choice number three because we can't rid ourselves of the fancy for it.

M.E. has, so far, done well at keeping a lid on real candidates and responses. Doubtless some enterprising journo will eventually sniff the reality before its quite done. We await the news.

He has lived in Teesside for years. Just because his wife is from here that doesnt necessarily mean anything. Who knows he may have the hump with us after he was passed over by Sheepy for Joe Royle when he sacked George.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

He wouldn't have come back whilst Sheepy was involved from what I hear. But him and Evans get on

Let me start off by saying that I'd like Mogga to come here, but is anyone else a bit concerned that his two biggest failures as a manager came at two clubs he played for and had legend status at? He's largely done okay or very well everywhere else, but he failed at Boro and Celtic when the circumstances at those clubs were conducive to him doing well. It may just be coincidence but part of me wonders whether he does well under the pressure of managing a club where there's already a connection and everyone is desperate for it to work.

Mogga was born at Saltburn-by-the Sea, which is Teesside. That really is home for him, and he is a hero up there - moreso than in Suffolk.

On the other hand his wife....
