HMRC feckers!!!! 11:45 - Apr 20 with 1823 views | GeoffSentence | Every flipping year they do this , every flipping year. I get a bonus in my April pay packet which means that for that one month my pay is more than twice what it normally is, and every year the HMRC base my tax code on that one month and give me a K tax code. F'cking b'stards. Got to get on the phone now.

The weird thing is about half of my team have the same problem, the other half don't.

HMRC feckers!!!! on 12:34 - Apr 20 with 1629 views | Herbivore | They've stuck me on a tax code that has me paying 40% on all my earnings. I will probably earn less than my £11.5k tax allowance this year too. Bizarre.

HMRC feckers!!!! on 12:55 - Apr 20 with 1568 views | tractorboy7777 | It’s the timing of the bonus. As far as they can see, you’ve had a pay rise and so look to spread your potential tax payment for the year, which if they didn’t, I’m sure you’d complain about come the following year when you get a huge tax bill. And regarding your phone call, you can sign up online to the gov.uk website and inform HMRC what your expected earnings will be for the year. They will then adjust your tax code accordingly.
