This is what I was afraid of!!!

Him or Grayson stinks of a safe but uninspiring choice. The club have a real chance now to be bold and brave but they won’t they will play safe with another boring run of the mill selection.

He's done a pretty solid job wherever he's been.

Not an exciting appointment obviously but a solid one.

Is the Daily Mirror the most reliable of sources?
0
Kenny Jackett on 09:37 - Apr 24 with 6537 viewsSuperfrans

There is only one absolutely certainty about all of this and that is that nobody knows anything.

Besides which, even if any of these journalists (who know no more than us) could actually read Marcus Evans' mind, "lining up a move" means "thinking of dropping him / or his agent an email". Nothing more than that.

I'm thinking of making a cup of tea in a moment. It doesn't mean I have yet done anything and it doesn't mean (even when I have decided to get up from my seat) that I am going to make a tea, or coffee, or maybe anything at all.

But, you have to concede that Mr Evans & his advisors haven't done to well to date, have they?

Why wouldn't a newspaper that made up accusations of British military personnel abusing prisoners be trustworthy?

Better than that in most of his appointments. String of promotions from lower divisions, play-off runs and cup silverware.

Admittedly not the wild-card excitement that some are looking for, but think he would actually do a good job.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

To be honest, the whole 'which one is worse' is a bit of 'Keane Vs Jewell'/which foot would you rather tread in dog poo with' issue when it comes to working out which of the Mail, S*n and Mirror are worse.

For the record, The Mail is Keane(pretty much dreadful in every respect, but is the most famous), S*n is Jewell(fond of employing past-it racists) and Mirror is Mick(some solid work at the beginning but familiarity breeding contempt).

In what respect? Hiring previous managers?

To be fair, hindsight is a wonderful thing. But there was a strong case for all three managers and Evans has given all of the time - arguably the right amount of time.

Keane was a logical and exciting appointment at the time - previously promoted, a winner, big boost of profile. Spent money unwisely, ultimately wasn't able to coach/nurture players.
Jewell too - been promoted twice, played good football, got exciting attacking players into the club. Too many loanees, ran out of steam.
McCarthy - previously promoted, saved us from relegation, took us into play-offs, stood still after that, fell out with fans.

You'll say, "but we haven't got promoted"! And that's the ultimate test. But, of the three managers he's appointed, only Keane has been given the required resources, to be fair.
