London ; World capital for dirty money 12:49 - Apr 24 with 3516 views | Archer4721 | Welcome to the world's biggest tax haven for crooks. A blind eye is turned by our government to Russian / Ukraine gangsters . It amazes me how investigative journalists can find out things so easily that government choose to ignore to find... It's symptoms of an economy that is kept going with dirty money or debt money. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43823962

Indeed! No doubt Putin will send barrels of nerve agent to London wiping out the scum that have taken £100's Billions out of the Russian economy!

I mean, imagine being the sort of vile, uber-capitalist who'd rather line his own pockets than sleep at night knowing that people can afford to live where they do and in a well-maintained condition. These people are awful.

The only thing that *is* worse is the people who do that while telling everyone they hold socialist values and are effectively doing the council's job for them. That's terrible. And obviously very funny.

I'd say that was up there with alleged socialists owning loads of houses and thus artificially inflating the market with barefaced hypocrisy.

Aithough that headline highlights the City, the rest of the article points out it’s a general investigation applicable across the whole G7 plus other large economies, and is no way specifically London based!

Yes but when a country doesn't produce its own wealth unlike USA and we've sold it all off anyway, the only alternative is to attract it from elsewhere. So it cannot afford to ask too many questions about where the money comes from.If we stopped the dodgy investors now the the economy would come crashing down as our economy is built on the housing market....which is quite depressing.

I always thought the UK economy was built largely on the financial services sector. This , I assume is just as bad for you, but don't worry because Brexit is going to kill that golden goose too.

Our economy is built on financial services. London is the world's biggest financial centre. and has an economy in its own right as big as Sweden's. I continue to think Remain was the obvious choice but despite the utter pointlessness of Brexit the economy seems to be purring along ok. By virtue of being central in Europe, having the world's biggest financial centre, English law underpinning most global precedents and decent relations with most advanced countries we seem to be muddling through ok despite no idea what our politicians are actually doing. What we'll end up with is a 'Norway'. Access to the single market, the currency union, no say in policy and more in terms of 'subs'. But we'll have got our country back.
