Yeah, McCarthy did alright and I think history will be kinder to him, but we didn't overachieve with him. MM was dealing with the lean years of the 5-point plan which was taking funds from the first team for the academy and development signings. Arguably next season much of that starts to pay real dividends, never mind that our centre midfield should be back.
