I haven't seen this before. Great read. Great to hear the passion and confidence in Ipswich. Talking about a philosophy to get us promoted.
Great to see us really go for it against a poor team. Rather than set up not to lose, lose by an odd goal and hear about how they don't deserve to be down there. So refreshing to see us breaking with pace, take people on.
The manager is key to how we get the best out of the influx of talent coming through from the youth system that MM, Klug, ME have re-established. I think Burley is right. We need to go out of our way. Make an offer that Mogga can't turn down and continue this positive and refreshing approach to games. |  |

Was really interesting to see which people tried to put a negative spin on Burley's comments - or simply said his view was out-of-date or unsustainable in the modern game. |
The truth is always somewhere in the middle when judging old managers and their approaches. I will always see Burley in a positive light. But I do feel that it is pretty obvious that Roy destroyed the youth system here, and MM has slowly rebuilt it. I agree with Burley that the next person coming in will have to embrace the reality of the financial position we are in and look at the youth as a way or driving the club forward.
I guess I should clarify, as I have dared to give MM praise, that I believe he should have left due to the negative style and divide with fans. But that doesn't make his entire stay here a negative.
Anyway... do you have a link to it? Or do you know what it was titled? I would be interested in having a read through the comments. | |

Not really. I had the opinion that MM should have left. Others had the agenda to get him out, and succeeded. I am open to the possibility that he did some positive things for the club, those with the agenda that sung about him being a pedo, clearly didn't. [Post edited 29 Apr 2018 12:09]

Might have over exaggerated the 10-pager bit, but there's a good wedge to read for both contrasting sides.
