Ipswich born players. 19:56 - Apr 30 with 8567 viewsMattinLondon

If Woolfenden, Hyam and Dozzell play in the same team next season then it will be three ipswich born players in the first eleven. Has this ever been bettered?

Dyer, Richard Wright and Titus Bramble (I think) also all played together.

Wondered if anyone knew the most amount of Ipswich born players ever to play in the same team? Thanks.

KHS old boy Chris Smith could make it four.

And that will be quite impressive considering the size in population of the Town.

Begs the question how many Ipswich players were actually born in Ipswich (Suffolk generally doesn’t count, of course). I can think of:
Brian Talbot
Arran Lee Barrett
Liam Trotter
Colin Harper

Plus the ones you’ve mentioned.
Any others?

Osborne can’t count from Otley. That would mean Ted Phillips too, from Gromford. Trevor Whymark was from Diss too, wasn’t he?

That would be rather pointless, as he never actually wants to talk to me I just want to know why he hates me so!

You can have Otley whilst not allowing Diss for goodness sake.

You could probably have Diss as well actually, seeing it's half and half, sort of, well two thirds a third.

I guess they are rather large and unwieldy at this time of year.

Yes, I was extending the border with every player. Diss is a bit far, but Gromford (near Snape) is not much further than Otley.

It's twice the distance! But you can deffo have Gromford as well as Otley. Diss touch and go cos it's over the border... but both Nodge and Town could claim local if a lad from there played for either team. Imo, loike :)

You can't have Diss, no way, but I can't see why you can't have Otley, according to Google it's 8.8 miles to the town centre.

Although one of the sunday papers the day after the 1978 Cup Final made a big thing of Roger being from Yorkshire with a headline something like "Eeey by gum" with a picture of him grinning minus two front teeth.
