Where's everyone off to? I'm going to Turkey in September to an all inclusive which fills me with a bit of dread, never done one before but with a 3 year old and a 6 month old, we thought it would give us the least hassle.

I'm off to Florida in September. Looking forward to it, rented villa with swimming pool, games room etc, so should be decent. Going with the missus and a couple of friends (mainly for Disneyland), but I'm hoping to take in an Orlando City game as they're at home whilst we're there!

Paphos for me in middle of June - 2 weeks in a self catered apartment in a small holiday village.

All Inc just was too expensive and not really what we wanted with an 18 month old so will save that until he is a bit older and number 2 here!

New York next week and Orlando in November and my missus is complaining about not having a summer holiday.

We used to do all inclusive in Turkey and Greece a lot when the kids were younger. Turkey is excellent for kids all inclusive and they will have loads for the kids. My only comment is the meals become slightly disjointed with one of you waiting with the youngest while the other takes the eldest to choose theirs and then you take it in turns to get your own. The positives of such a relaxed holiday massively outweigh this though. Good choice.

When mine got a bit older we moved on from 10 years of all inclusives and starting getting apartments and going out to restaurants. Having 2 or 3 bedrooms is a big help when they get bigger

Norway for 2 weeks, belated honeymoon. 5 days in Svalbard then flying down to Oslo for 2 days before flying back up to Kirkness to catch the cruise ship down the coast to Bergen. Loads of wildlife watching and hikes.

Lake District tomorrow with extended family and then Morocco in October. Should get a few decent days of walking in next week although the forecast is rather mixed.

We have always done self catering, but with two small ones now we thought all inclusive would give us a break from meal times and clearing up everyday, and it was excellent value, although will keep a close eye on Erdogen though over the coming months....

Re: all inclusive, if you've got a decent one then I fully concur when you've got kids the ages that you have! We've done it a few times with ours when they were between 1yr old and 8yrs old because it's just one less thing to worry about.

Going to south of France in August; AirBNB in a farmhouse with its own pool etc. Driving down. Did similar last year and it worked very well.

Mrs was a bit worried about Turkey, and we had a good time in Cyprus over Easter so just heading back there as got a good deal. Easy place to get around driving too so can mix it up a bit

Nowhere this year unfortunately.

Got so much on that I haven’t got the money &/or leave from work to be able to go away for a proper holiday.

Got a week in a self catering villa booked for next year in Corfu though.

Will you be going to La Rochelle to reminisce about learning French in the Tricolore books?

Ha, yes — been a few times and each time wonder if I've walked past one of the Tricolore characters in the street!

Walked around La Rochelle last summer when we were staying nearby. One of my old school mates asked the same question re: Tricolore textbooks. I was nonplussed as I reminded him that it was his homework that I was copying, so why would I remember the textbooks he was using?
