Maybe they're having a rooftop picnic and forgot their blanket?

Vegan... Steak? on 15:32 - May 17 by itfcjoe | I suppose the question would be why does meat come in those shapes though? A burger is a convenient shape for a roll. I can understand if they were making vegan chicken legs, or joints of meat like this - but burgers and sausages are not great examples of something weird |
Meme-age, but relevant.

Vegan... Steak? on 15:31 - May 17 by gtsb | I've cut down on meat dramatically for me. I rarely have red meat and mainly have chicken. Gone from having meat everyday to only 2-3 times a week. Tonight is Quorn chilli . Not every ones thing I know but I must admit I'm enjoying experimenting more with food. |
I very rarely use fake meat in sauce based meals like chilli, curry and spag bol anymore. Veggies do the job a treat. I make a mean 3 bean chilli and sweet potato curry (not mixed together!)

Vegan... Steak? on 15:40 - May 17 by TLA | I think we've had this conversation before Rommy. Burgers and sausages are not cuts of meat, they're heavily processed and often liquidised meat, heavily flavoured and made into shapes that are convenient. Something like soya is similarly flavoured and shaped for convenience. Whilst I can't see why the meat industry has any claim on the shape of a sausage or burger, I'll never tell people not to eat meat, just because I choose not to. That's nothing more than a personal choice to me. |
Aye I’m not fussed what other people do. Callis has been a lot less preachy on here so that’s been good. I was just wondering really. Would’ve thought putting in that shape is a constant reminder of what vegans dislike that’s all.

Not a bad response that and certainly made me think!. I guess I'd rather have a nicely flavoured soya sausage in a bun at a BBQ that a grilled carrot! I get reminders all the time of food I think is tasty but choose not to eat. I still remember how good a bacon butty or tuna steak is but just made a personal choice not to eat them. There are now some really good veggie 'fish' fingers - I sometimes eat them because I like the taste. Actual fish don't have fingers, it's just a flavoured mix of food coated in breadcrumbs and shaped. As we've both said though, it's each to their own.

I'll admit that I've been done up like a kipper there Stokie. I'd never met Barry before but I'll admit that there are fish with fingers after being introduced to him. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Vegan... Steak? on 15:33 - May 17 by Bluebell | I think quorn is fine is ok as long as you put plenty of flavouring in it like a chilly or curry. |
Quorn is fine if you put plenty of meat with it

Sainsbury's is shiite (and are the worst for screwing the suppliers) Waitrose is too expensive Lidle and Aldi means waiting in a massive queue Morrisons.... um, there isn't one near me quite like M&S though [Post edited 17 May 2018 18:23]

Nah, surveys suggest most people switch for animal rights actually.

But it's not a very large reason though, therefore it justifies why such a product exists. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm simply replying with data on the main reasons people go vegan. Calm down mate.
