If Ross would rather go to Sunderland 16:50 - May 23 with 1865 viewsm14_blue

Than a stable championship club where he would definitely be given time to build something, then that's not the level of judgement I'd want from our new manager anyway.

Yep, I'd agree with that. It sounds as though we've also discussed terms with him, if he's made the decision that he prefers Sunderland then good luck to him. In fairness he's used to not spending more than 18 months anywhere in his short managerial career so far so he should fit in at Sunderland if he goes there.

At this present moment in time it’s so much easier to succeed with Sunderland with the biggest budget in their league rather than Ipswich who have around the smallest budget the championship.

Also its a smaller jump in quality from the Scottish Champ to League 1.

The flip side of that is that should he not have instant success at Sunderland he won't get anywhere near the amount of time to turn it around that he would as the manager of Ipswich.

I agree why would he go there; much higher wage, much bigger transfer budget and much closer to his home.

Agree, but it may be down to geog location as well. We're all human, and such things do count, esp considering work/life balance, family etc.

So the next best plan we have is to approach a manager in Hurst who is in a play off final with another team, we can't actually talk to him as yet he is actually managing another team with a game to go (The biggest game ever for STFC) and we assume he will down tools and head to Ipswich after winning OR losing the final.

Football people are not known on the whole for their emotive qualities and loyalty, but, it would take some man to get them up to the championship on Sunday evening and then sack it off Monday morning for another club.

The whole town shouting your name as a demi god and then 12 hours later signing as Ipswich manager, is that good... Ummmm

That's a fair point.

I didn't want that hot girl anyway, if she chooses to flaunt herself and get with sub-standard blokes in grimy clubs then it says a lot about her. Dirty girl.

Maybe he read up on "Numbskull Gate" and thought Blimey, I'd rather work with Lee Catermole

Not at all, he seems like a good bloke and a good manager, hope he does well - I quite like Sunderland too.

However, I can't see this as anything other than a rank bad decision for a young manager looking to establish himself in England.

We need someone who is committed to a long term project, not someone who would prefer the boom and bust of somewhere like Sunderland
.

Time yes. Stable yes. But no budget could be a factor.

You repeatedly said that he would never choose Sunderland over us. And down arrowed any who suggested otherwise.

Should imagine he would rather go somewhere he is actually offered the job - not interviewed twice and asked to wait.
