Barnsley after Hurst on 00:09 - May 26 with 5941 views | Matt_Netherlands | Reads more like paper speculation than concrete interest.... he says, hoping! Just checked out Barnsley’s second half of the season and noticed ol’Kieffer Moore nicked 4 goals for them since his move... not too shabby considering a lot of us wrote him off and said he’d never have a hope at this level (still a cracking bit of business for us though)

He’s not ‘fashionable’ enough for Derby. More chance of them appointing Mick than Hurst.

Think oodles is an understatement. They are swimming in money.

Ross moved to Sunderland, who may be wealthy but nothing like Barnsley's wealth. That much cash may be an incentive to anyone. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

But that is all they currently have. Sure, he'd get a large pay packet, but wouldn't be testing himself at a higher level - which he will want to do as an ambitious man (as he is, if his managerial career to date is anything to go by). Move to Barnsley and have a minimum of a year before he's in the Championship, or go there immediately with Town, potentially Shrewsbury, and any other offers which come along? Additionally, Barnsley in L1 will have very high expectations. If things do not start well (which can happen for a whole host of reasons), then the job may not last all that long anyway. Barring the danger of relegation, he knows he will be given time to develop at Ipswich. Shrewsbury is practically a free pass, as everyone will expect them to go straight back down.

Not sure about this one but one that intrigues me is that I have a mate who works at the ticket office at Derby and the rumour there is he is on the short list for their vacancy

Yep "Co-chairman Paul Conway says he believes the club is "one of the best run" in the country. Conway is part of a consortium, headed by Chinese billionaire Chien Lee and also including baseball pioneer Billy Beane, that has bought an 80% stake"
