Think I heard him say that he's watched lots of games on video since he's been appointed, so he'll have a good idea of the squad. He's quickly spotted the need for decent wingers - hope he has more success with that than Mick did! | |

We’ve got Emmanuel as a RB to come back, Huws/Bishop as creative players (if fit). Wingers and striker I agree with although there is young players there who maybe able to step up perhaps? | |

Exactly the point I was about to make.....
We've generally been down the route of a season-long loan of a quality wide player (Lawrence, Fraser, Celina etc), which, rightly or wrongly, was Mick's way of getting in some quality in an area that can win you matches.
But we let Berra go and didn't replace him and then did the same with Smith (2CV was a decent stop-gap though). |  |

Shaun Whalley is 31 in August and Alex Rodman 31 already. Personally, I'd hope we go for younger than that, to ensure they have some longevity.
Nathan Thomas (23) has been listed by Sheff Utd after being on loan with the Shrews last season, so he's a possibility.
Otherwise though, I've always liked Kazenga Lua Lua, who has been released by Sunderland. I assume he'll be too expensive for us though.. | |

Not sure Ward is natural, although he does run at people quite well. Hurst’s point about end product might mean ward will struggle to impress him though. |  |

If ever Bishop were to be able to reimpose himself to the degree that we have something of the player we once had, he would surely be an answer.
But, back in the world of here and now, to use an overworked phrase, it would be a bonus if Teddy turned out to be any sort of fairly immediate answer to any problems we have.
The maybes waiting to be assessed are all central mids, and, if Hurst wants wingers, then even if fit, they won't all play - and perhaps, as he indicated, some might go. | |
