Chickers, been meaning to ask, you're very anti drugs on 08:11 - Jun 19 with 2996 views | GlasgowBlue | I’ll give my take. Big difference between pain relief and recreational drug taking. I mean Morphine is an essential drug for pain relief but it shouldn’t be used for recreational purposes. And this is what worries me about some of these jumping in the cannabis oil bandwagon. They have no interest in this little kids well being. They want to legalise lit for their own recreational benefit.

Seems Hague is taking a view that you've already "lost the war" Inclined to agree. It's a pointless endeavor to try and stop people smoking it. It's so incredibly easy to get hold of.

I’m not giving my opinion on whether it should or should not be legalised. Just pointing out to dollers that there is a big difference between medical and recreational use. Chico’s views in recreational drug taking has nothing to do with how drugs are used for medical purposes. It’s a silly question to ask.

Yep. Over stretched policing already and is it worth the hassle of arresting/potentially charging someone for having a couple of bifters in their back pocket?

Cor! EDIT: We almost lost my Dad last year following him "bravely soldiering on" with a burst appendix.. He was given Morphine to take home and use for pain relief but decided not to use it as he'd read bad things about in in the paper. He handed it back in to the GP. [Post edited 19 Jun 2018 8:28]

Its effectively been legal for years. You could smoke it in the street outside a police station and not get arrested.

For my back Zomorph is definitely my friend at the moment, with top ups of industrial strength oramorph, diazapam, and another slow release drug I don't even remember the name of. I've given up on the Ooh that's not good for me crap and just take what the doctor says will take away the pain.

Yeah, but you can't buy it legally, which is the more pressing issue as it allows for a pretty dangerous black market and then also means "imitations" are very common. Some of those are incredibly nasty things.

A couple of my friends are in the force and their view on Cannabis has been legalise it or at the very least decriminalise it. It takes up so much time, that they mostly turn a blind eye to it.

I was on Morphine Sulphate, Pregabilin (which is for anxiety and epilepsy but helps nerve pain as well) and Diazepen. It helped me self cure as the specialist said I could never do sport again because I had a bulge on one of my discs. I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning or out in socks or underwear. The cocktail of drugs killed the pain and that meant I was mobile. Once I was mobile I stretched what neeed to be stretched and two years later was as good as gold with no need for an op. I was a bit of a zombie for that period though.

It is somewhat baffling an 'illegal' drug is able to be legalised in MANY states of the USA - a country famed for it's Christian craziness. State owned weed shops - recreational, not just medicinal - seems a rather forward thinking way of tackling the situation.

The evidence is presently very sketchy and varied as to dosing, delivery and composition. The legal status of cannabis also doesn't help. Proper, controlled large-scale studies need performing and then sensible regulation bringing in in accordance with findings. I'm not opposed or unopposed to its use in a medicinal capacity but it should be properly researched and evidence-based as presently, there's a lot of quacks out there selling all sorts of sh1t of variable quality and composition that comes with little to no guarantee of efficacy. https://www.pharmaceutical-journal.com/news-and-analysis/features/cannabis-for-e [Post edited 19 Jun 2018 10:17]

Fair point, although I suspect many, like me, have been calling for the legalisation of cannabis and other drugs long before this incident. And I'm not a cannabis user. It just seems odd to me that it can be legal in some instances and not in others. Recreational use is a form of pain killer for many - numbing the pain of everyday life.

I don't see how asking someone's opinion on something is "silly". Perhaps Chico believes cannabis should be illegal full stop. That's his prerogative and up to him to answer.

The reason I have not been online for a week is that last Wednesday, at 2 in the morning Mr BB had to rush me to hospital with severe stomach pains. Morphine was certainly my friend that night. I have just returned home with a 6 inch scar down my stomach having had a major op for a twisted bowel. 8 inches of tube was removed but apparently that’s fine because I have about 2 metres of it left. If it hadn’t been for the morphine I could never have coped with the pain. I have never taken any recreational drugs in my life but I do think they should be made legal for medical reasons.
