Kane - iceman, bloody love him
Young - during the Henderson head incident he controlled an angry Lingard and calmed him down. Who knows what those cheats could have done if they'd have got face to face.
Lingard - during the wait to take the penalty when they were trying to get in Kane's head he guided Kane away from the melee.
Southgate - practiced penalties. It showed.
The whole bloody team's mindset - we're England and we're behind after three penalties. Could have crumbled.
Maguire- didn't sink to their level. Went down but immediately made it clear it wasn't a penalty.

Tough as nails tonight, I had given up all hope after that 1st period of extra time, we had totally lost it. Picked our selves up in the second, then again after the pen miss.

Superb!! Very good shape, sound defensively, not too many opportunities created in the final third. We looked leggier than they did, which is a concern, as that was part of the resting of players thinking, but came on strong in the final half of extra time. Perhaps might have been interesting to see Welbeck come on as he is pacey and physical. Credit to their two centre backs Sanchez and Mina they cleared pretty much everything and have been good all tournament for them.
Mental strength was great to see and well done Pickford great save in injury team and great in the pens. Maguire awesome performance! Trippier has played so well!

From everything I've heard on the radio, Vardy didn't bottle the penalty. Southgate did lots of work on penalties and then picked the penalty-takers and the order. It may be that Southgate was saving him for the 6th or 7th, we don't know. But that accusation can't be made at Vardy. | | | |
