Robot vacuum 20:19 - Jul 18 with 2472 views | wkj | Now, I know by title alone some will be ready to jump on me for wanting a pointless toy or lazy person gimmick, and I can quite honestly understand that. My reasons are serious and sound however; I usually do my mums cleaning as she is limited with rheumatoid arthritis, but I am due to take a few working trips in the autumn. Has anyone had any first hand experience with these blighters, or someone reliable that you know who has? I am looking for one that vacuums, though if it mops too that is a bonus- Alexa/Wi-Fi operation is not essential, though self docking is. I realise these things cant probably do the job of a regular hoover though it would help ease my mind that she is able to be comfortable in her environment when I cant be immediately on hand. With love, With care Mr Tabb

Robot vacuum on 20:46 - Jul 18 by jeera | The main thing is that you're glad you asked. |
I am indeed, I am also impressed a non divisive threat that has nothing to do with Brexit, House prices, Burnley, or Corbyn has managed to veer so violently off course so early

Robot vacuum on 20:22 - Jul 18 by jeera | Hire a cleaner* for a couple of hours a week. *A person. |
I've just hired one today. What is a reasonable rate? I haven't had one for a few years and cost has gone up by 50%

I honestly have no idea. My mum has a gardener once a week for a couple of hours and she is only charged around 13 quid per hour. Does that sound right? I wonder what an hour costs from a pretty Eastern European lass nowadays? Assuming, if the stories are true, they are only here to undercut the yocals.

There’s a load of ‘trusted trader’ type places you can get local recommendations from for more peace of mind - or put a notice up at the WI, to see if there’s any interest for anyone to do a couple or so hours a week?

You're looking at more like a £50 flat rate!

Robot vacuum on 20:33 - Jul 18 by jeera | Although admittedly the robot cleaner is less likely to try to con her out of her life savings in some confidence scam. It is a tough one. |
You never know, pretty advanced these days are robots

A sensible measured response from an A-lister - I never thought about the filter etc, just assumed that was part of the docking process, I was incorrect. Well Hoppy, you saved my mum some money, but in the same light you robbed my cat out of a toy- this site needs sideways vote arrows
