He's an absolute feckwit.

With each day I still find it hard to believe that such a huge proportion of Americans voted for him.

Clearly a massive chunk of the US population, as here, are idiots.

As so often in these cases, most people probably did not believe he was really as bad/stupid/careless/ignorant/fantasy-prone as he seems to be.

I'm being generous. If the man is wilfully undermining a military ally at the behest of another (not particularly friendly) power, that would be grounds for severe censure, possibly constitutional action.

Trump accused of Russia collusion to help him win the election
Trump denies this and removes people from intelligence agencies
Trump denies collusion
Trump goes to Russia and makes a balls up blamed on getting words wrong
Trump criticises allies in such a way that would please Putin

I honestly have no clue why anyone would ever have the slightest bit of suspicion into his ties with Russia at all, I can't see how people connect those dots.

Fortunately, his comments and actions only affect the Americans, so there's no need for anyone else to show their displeasure towards him.

In case it is deemed pathetic.

Of course his words are thoughtless. He clearly has nothing with which to think.

He needs a new target, Trump is at his 'best' when he has an adversary to smear (albeit justified or otherwise) Obama, Hillary, Kim. It is as if his biggest supporters only like him when he is being a bully- he needs not think, just steal someone's lunch money

Unfortunately I think we're reaching the ultimate end game on both sides of the Atlantic of what happens when you have the combination of (a) a political system where money is king, (b) first-past-the-post elections that encourage two-party systems and increasing polarisation, (c) a media more interested in influencing voters to vote for what their owners want rather than holding politicians to account, and (d) centre-left parties adopting or continuing right-wing policies that damage their working class base...
