Where does this figure of £8-£10m come from? I am not disputing it but the idea of a selling club putting a price spread on a player seems an odd one since all potential buying clubs will see is the bottom figure. £8-10m means £8m.

I'd imagine it might mean a couple of things:

Perhaps £8m cash with a further £2m of add-ons

or

£8m if you pay up front in cash, or £10m if you want to pay in instalments as seems to be the current trend.
