Got to be Micky Stockwell.
Mickey Stockwell?????? If anything, he must have been our most under-rated player.
Played in pretty much every outfield position for us, over 500 appearances, including 35 for in his last season when he was 34 years old. Just a fantastic unsung hero. You don't get to play that many games, over so long, without being some player.

He scored 21 goals in one season for us and got into double figures a few other times. He was also just a very classy footballer. And Roy Keane hates him. What's not to love?
What's not to love is his first season with us when he scored a grand total of 0 goals in the Prem as replacement for a broken-jawed Marcus Stewart. Just two or three from him could have seen us safe. Or if Burley had kept Johnno. Or if he had signed just about any striker except Pablo.
But he did then find his level in the following seasons, and proved an able back-up striker to the first choice pairing of Bent and Kuqi.

He did and he was loved because he was Town through and through but did he have that much ability? He made the very most of his ability and was a very hard working player. I love Micky Stockwell - was my favourite player when I was a kid but I agree with the nomination.
Morris Voltz was really pretty rubbish but his quirky blog, and a residual belief that a German player must be technically gifted, meant that many of us believed in him in spite of the evidence before our eyes.
Controversial one: Richard Naylor. The question is most popular relative to ability. He was very, very popular: was be very, very able? I don't think so. He was committed and passionate and had good stamina, but he wasn't a particularly gifted footballer.

Given how much of a mess Burley made of that season seems harsh to blame Pablo, he didn't even play much that season anyway. And he was first choice the following season along with Marcus Bent, Kuqi didn't join until Sep 2003.
So overrated he was apparently a great decoy on 24th September 1994 - the United players (including a certain famous number 16) were distracted by the first Uruguayan to play in the English top flight as he "marauded" on the far post, leaving Paul Mason to dance around the other United players and chip in a couple of goals in the 3-2 win we got over them that day!
Can't find the other goals right now but this one is rather enjoyable...
Steve Sedgley was credited with the winner but I remember from watching it live on Teletext that the goal was initially attributed as a Roy Keane O.G. Might have been the best thing he ever did for the club!
Disclaimer: A win = 3 points. No matter what you win by!
