matches as underdogs, which we probably haven’t been in any of the games we’ve played so far. How this feeds into the mentality of this developing side will be interesting to see. If we give too much respect to Villa and Derby, we could be in trouble. If we get on the front foot against them and try to be bold, get the crowd involved etc, we have a chance.

Funnily enough the bookies had Rotherham favs to beat us but we were shorter odds for the other two games

We haven't really been all that bad and all three games could have gone either way

With Villa and Derby we will have the chance to play more counter attacking football - but we will need the defence - especially Bart, Chambers and Knudson to step up as they have not been at the top of their game so far this season

Strangely enough I can see us putting in better performances against these 'superior' teams as we will have to raise our game just like Exeter and Rotherham did with us. Not to say a better performance means we will even get points out of them though but we will definitely frustrate them, got a feeling we will have a decent home record this year but be absolutely dreadful away from home

Akin to... was it Magilton’s first season in charge where we were great at home but dreadful away?

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

His second season saw us only lose 1 league match at Portman Road, but only pick up 3 away wins. 1 more away win would have seen us make the play-offs that season.

I feel that if this season does get going, it will mirror Jim’s first season where surprising victories were mirrored by grizzly or annoying defeats. Jim had to wait till his 5th league match (and lost in the first round of the League Cup on penalties too) before recording his first win, so Hurst still has time. Feck it, if he breaks his duck in his 7th match and beats Norwich, the pressure will reduce by about 50%.
