Dear Mr G. TWTD,

May I humbly suggest the following feature be developed for TWTD

Auto-hide-thread

An option to automatically hide any threads that contain a particular word or phrase in the subject line.

I would use this to automatically hide any thread with the word 'Corbyn' in the title line, this would save plenty of tedium and effort.

With kind regards

Mr G. Sentence

As you know he doesn't need to appear in the subject line to make an appearance !

For now the subject line will do, as a future enhancement an appearance of the offending word or phrase in the body of any post in the thread could be considered.

Fook me it works beautifully. There is a little yellowish tinge to the background now, but I can live with that.

The biggest problem is that I normally use firefox.

But anyway, it is marvellous and more people should be aware of it.

You could always use the "Don't click on thread titles that don't interest you" feature, which Gav has built into the site since TWTD 1.0.

Ha ha. The saddest thing about this is he’s been doing the same thing continuously for over three years.

I spend a lot less time on here now than I used to before it all started.

Conversely, just because he is in the subject line doesn't mean he is actually there. He might just be nearby.

Good idea from the OP though. I could use it to expunge ALB from my ITFC experience.

That is a good feature, but it does have the small flaw of leaving the first page clogged up with guff.

Only a single line of it for each thread of guff, assuming you use the sensible and more advanced table mode forum index?

I do, but even with a single line, each guff post risks losing a precious 'Hoppy' post. My life is then a little bit worse.

Agree 100%.

I remember with the 2015 general election when all the party politics discussions were going on, I would have loved a Politics button to hide everything behind. With Scottish independence, Brexit, Trump, the frenzy surrounding Corbyn etc. politics does seem more important and "General" now but if other people aren't interested in it then a "Politics" button would make total sense.
