My sincere thanks to the referee 17:37 - Aug 18 with 6011 viewsWarkTheWarkITFC

One of the worst referees I can remember for some time.

But he may just prove to be a massive turning point for our season. Our boys had to play like lions for almost 60 minutes against a top team and the belief this young, inexperienced team will take from that is enormous.

It’s united the fans, the players, the whole group and those players know we could even have won against one of the best teams in the division, a man down and with a referee completely against us. That gives you belief you can beat anyone in the division.

Donacien was great. Nsiala was a beast. Chambers was mostly immense. Every player can hold their heads high. What a thoroughly entertaining match.

The referee was a joke but he may just have kickstarted this group through his ineptitude.

Okay cannot comment on his general display, or first yellow as it wasn't in the highlights I saw.

However, what I CAN say for categorical fact - Edun - what the hell are you doing for the second.

You're already booked, not really any massive danger and you go and do that.

You left the ref with absolutely no choice but to send you off.

It was a tackle. He looked like he nicked the ball. Either way never a yellow card.

The reaction of Tuanzebe, in keeping with Villa’s general attitude, got him sent off. More play acting.

Grealish’s reaction was disgusting. What a monumental ballbag.

No sorry it's silly sliding in when on a yellow, ref spot on for that I'm afraid.

Edun's reaction is telling. He knows. He'll learn from this too.

It was a bit naive and silly to give the ref the option.

Still think it was harsh though, certainly didn't think it was anything like as clear cut as you suggest.

Try and be positive for once.
Anyone would think you’d played Championship football ffs.
Is there nothing you’re ever wrong about? I pity your ‘partner’.

Jesus it's a stone wall yellow card.

If it was the other way we'd be screaming for a red.

Lets get our biased hats off for a second shall we.

The rest of the refs performance MAY have been toilet.

The first yellow sounds a joke but not seen it.

However, that's academic with the red. He's given the ref zero choice but to issue a second yellow.

I look forward to someone without complete bias agreeing with me later.

Absolute shame, but the player knew.

Performance may have been superb!

Pleased we did well.

Want us to win.

However it's a stone wall yellow unfortunately!

Oddly, the Villa fans think the referee was shocking on their forum. Not sure what they were expecting - a free kick every time one of their players fell over? They almost got that as it is.

Ridiculous. Everyone can see that was a pathetic decision, but of course you read the game so much better than anyone else. There is an option open to the ref - it's called a free kick. Oh well, maybe you're happy about football becoming a non contact sport

He may well have been!

We do get them at times.

Who was it out of interest? Kevin Friend is the one I always hated. Too stop / start.

Not a single town fan in the ground saw it as a yellow card, not even the manager could understand the decision.
Where were you sitting to see it as a 'stone wall yellow'??

Tim Robinson. He ref'd the home matches against Birmingham, Norwich and Sunderland last year - can't remember him being that bad during any of those games.

He was the fourth official who somehow missed the Louvens horror tackle on McGoldrick.

Glad it wasn't just me. We have two consecutive refereeing abominations

His first half 'performance' earnt me a chat with the steward 🤨

Couldn't even swear about his decisions in the second half 🤔

Good day though, so glad we got something
