Hypothetical question 10:41 - Aug 23 with 1709 viewsStenvict

If we were still hanging around the relegation zone at Xmas and looking likely to go down, would PH get sacked or will ME keep him on no matter what division we'll be in?

A very good question!

Personally, I think he’d stick with him and watch us go down.

His reaction in those circumstances would finally reveal to us how important the club is to him.

He changed it when PornoPaul was taking us down, so I think hes already shown his colours.

Slightly different this season in that the PH revolution may take time and he may stick with him even if the dreaded R word looks possible.

I think his main concern would be that Town, as a 3rd tier club, would be a less valuable asset as I'm sure Evans is a seller at the right price. Hurst has had success at that level & would probably be the right type of guy to get us back up, however ironic that may seem.

Does it?

He gave Mick 5 years

Finally made a change and is trying something the fans were screaming for.

Why would it then be his fault if it doesn't work. surely it's the fans for getting mick out?

I think ME had more of an appetite for it then than he has now and I just don’t think he would go through the whole process again with no guarantees to stay up.

I’m of the opinion, based on what I’ve seen on the pitch, that we’ll be fine this season anyway.

I didn’t suggest it would be his fault if it doesn’t work. It’s not the fans’ fault either.

Around Christmas? No way.

Unlikely to get the chop no matter what happens imo.

Right. Which is totally different to blaming him if we go down.

I'm thinking this will be the case. Surely when he appointed PH he knew this could be a possibility. He got rid of Mick, but Mick is the kind of manager we would need if we got into trouble, so can't see him changing no matter what.

Personally, I'd want to keep PH no matter what. If we were to go down, he'd be a good manager for us.

Hopefully things click soon and we're safe though.

He'd have to jog on it we're in the bottom 3 come January for me.

Spent quite a chunk of ££££ and would need more players in January.

Would I trust him IF we're in that position half way through? absolutely not. No.

Lets hope we don't need to find out and we get our usual 16th spot in the league :)

If the worst does happen this year I'd be inclined to keep PH for L1*

*Unless he does some really stupid things & completely loses it.

It won't come to this though.

If he keeps trying to get us playing, and signs are there, I’d hang on to him whatever if I’m honest.

Who we gonna turn to with 15 games to go to keep us up? I dread to even think

Actually, I seem to remember PJ handing in his resignation rather than being sacked?
