Little disappointed about that one. Think we could have used the cover. I'd prefer Woolf playing CB than someone out of position.

Truly impaired.

Disappointed with that.

Disappointed with that move; guess Hurst wants him to get first team football and he won't long term here, for now at least.

Surprised, but at least he’ll be playing regularly at first team level.

Wouldn't surprise me, unless Hearts or Rangers have offered something better, haven't heard anymore on that.

Just read that. Good move for him. A good step up the pyramid into elf leagues at League 2.

Seriously!?!

Not impressed we're loaning an Everton lad and Wolf going on loan.

The Everton lad is 23, 24 this autumn. Woolfie is 4/5 years younger.

Imagine a football manager sending an 18 year old with very little competitive experience to a lower league to gain some confidence and experience.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Chambers Nsiala Pennington with Spence and Knudsen able to step in does feel a bit light.

If thats correct, I find it baffling.

We are short in that area. Scrabbling around for a player who was at best "ok" last year for Leeds, and we have a very promising young player who has looked comfortable when called upon. Would think we'd want him starting or at least back up for Sunday.

It could mean that someone like McAuley signs on a free or there was Onohua mentioned as well which would be decent. Would allow him out for 6-12 months to play games and come back ready next season

Put it to you this way, as soon as Nsiala returns id imagine Pennington to return to the bench as cover.

Would you rather Woolfenden sitting on the bench or playing everywhere somewhere else and we have someone else players sitting on the bench for us. Good move all round as Pennington provides 5 years advantage and already played in this division as cover.

I agree, especially given how well he played in pre -season, but maybe Hurst want's him to have a run of games which he probably won't get here.

I don't know, that's just me pre- supposing.

Nah I'm going with instinct here, Wolf looks a very promising lad.

Rather have him than this Everton lad, who from what I've been told really isn't all that.

Still, good for Wolf to play week in week out.

Id rather him playing for us every chance, and I'd rather limit the proportion of loanees where possible.

That is a point however wonder Pennington's loan fee wages etc.

Who will be the unlucky loanee this weekend !?

I'll go - Graham

From what I've seen he's good enough to challenge Chambers and Nsiala , really, really disappointed in this one.

He’s 19. A season playing 30/40 games in L2 will be an excellent opportunity for him & next season he can try and push on into the first team.

I can't understand the disappointment about a young player going on loan to get a proper first team experience instead of not playing here. Woolfenden was never expected to be starting every game, so it makes sense to loan him somewhere that will instead of sitting on the bench here.

Unfortunately at the moment I think Hurst is looking for a bit of experience and young Woolfenden is a bit short of league experience whereas Pennington has experience of championship football.

The loan will be of huge benefit to Woolfenden and is a move that will surely benefit us as well long term
