Honeymoon period over. 17:47 - Sep 15 with 1667 viewsitfctim

Early days, we've only played a few games etc etc..they were all fair comments, but now, after the international break, and the chance for the assembled bunch of strangers to bond, today was a seriously bad result, against a poor side. Football, as we know, is a results driven business, and you have to hit the ground running. The division will not wait for anyone, be it a relegated premiership side suffering back to back relegations, or a club, like us this season with a sudden influx of lower league players. The situation is very serious now, and only those looking at it through blue tinted glasses will see it any differently. Today, after the international break, was pivotal in my opinion. It doesn't bode well. I hope I'm proved wrong.

The division won't relegate anyone 7 games in.

Poll: Pick a goal to win the derby in stoppage time...

Absolutely it will not.

39 left to play.

Obviously, can you see improvement coming over the next few games ?
Has there been improvement since the start of the season ?

A typical blue tinted glasses response.

I can see results coming. Results will probably come before performances do, if that makes sense.

We won our first game under Keane at the 16th attempt and we finished 15th. I'm confident Hurst has more about him than Keane did.

It's been very mixed so far, we seem to do one thing well and two things badly. Goals are clearly the one thing massively lacking. At this point confidence is massive.

Maybe it's time for some of you to replace the Suffolk Punch on our badge with an Ostrich...complete with its head in the sand.

"Pivotal" is a very strong adjective. Cue relegation in that case.
Not sure how or why you've decided this particular game was pivotal.

Let me explain. The international break was a welcome opportunity for this newly assembled group to gell, work on play patterns, both defensive and offensive, to bond, to come back with a renewed belief, confidence etc, and therefore I saw this game as pivotal. I am well aware of the meaning of the word, and I didn't use it randomly. I posted before the break, and said that I see the Hull game as such, even if you didnt/don't. The game has been played, another defeat, this time against a poor side, and any confidence generated during the break is gone. I maintain that this fixture will be seen as pivotal. As I've said, I hope I'm wrong.

We're certainly not yet relegated, but we are certainly mid-table at best.

This isn't a pivotal result but it is a very bad one. We haven't picked up points and our fixtures so far have largely been against teams expected to finish in the mid/lower parts of the table.

Let's see where we sit after the Bolton game next weekend. If we don't win that then there's genuine cause for concern. I'm not expecting more than a point against Brentford.
