Mick was and is one of the most experienced managers around, approaching 1,000 games with multiple Championship promotions and international and World Cup experience on a relatively glittering CV as a player and manager. While operating on a bottom six budget he had us consistently looking up the table, including our first play-off campaign in ages. It was no frills, pragmatic football built on a tight knit, functional over-achieving group with a sprinkling of flair from loanees like Fraser, Lawrence, Celina and decent strikers bought for next to nothing- McGoldrick, Murphy, Waghorn, Garner. And he turned a huge profit for Evans while on that shoestring with sales like Mings, Murphy, Waghorn. Hurst's CV is a one club man for Rotherham as a player and lower league clubs like Ilkeston, Grimsby, Shrewsbury as a manager. He's ripped up everything that went before to 'stamp his authority' with a ridiculously high number of lower league signings (costing more than Mick spent in his entire reign) and people are now surprised at the unfolding car crash. The problem was and always will be our budget under Evans. Perhaps those who hounded him out will eventually come to realise the decent job McCarthy did. It wasn't pretty but it was effective when the odds are stacked against us financially. Hurst's taken five months to destroy what Mick took five years to build, returning us back to the bottom of the table we inhabited when Mick took over

Hurst is called our "Manager" Time to move on from the Jurassic years you are stuck in!
Seriously though what is the point in anyone bringing up MM, just to troll people or do they do it just to throw their toys out the pram! MM has gone, its not workin for Hurst atm but to keep ramming MM into his face is pathetic, if it continues to not work for Hurst then he will also be replaced, only one person knows when that time will be and that may well be the next time he decides to speak to us fans.

This is a spot on post. Can't add anything else. Christ Evans is garbage. Every decision he had made bar the appointment of MM in 2012 has been woeful. We will exit the Championship this season and that will be the culmination of his tenure as owner. Poor little Pauly Hurst will find his level back in the lower leagues.

Why not compare? Agree it does get a bit monotonous, but we still discuss Keane, Jewell, Magic, Royle, Ferguson, Robson etc. Just like we discuss ex players.
Mcarthy did a decent job while boring us to death - I wasn't a fan, I didn't want us to employ him, but he did good. All those that wanted a more exciting style must be either disappointed or non attendees because I would have rather watched a MM team over what I saw today.
We don't have to get over McCarthy. We have to get over the expectancy. We are a bottom of the championship/L1 club. It's where we were before MM and that's where we are now. MM changed that by being astute - boring as fck, but astute. He new what he had to do, to pick up points.
There is probably a realism setting in. The state of the game has us where we are not MM. Until the madness that is modern football settles it will be a struggle.
getting rid of MM was always going to be high risk, but having watched PH looking lost and clueless today I think its one we lost.

Sadly I agree with most of what you say here.
My concerns are increasing, 2 home games and even 4 points might ease that concern

Not forgetting of course dear old Mick gave us our worst league finish in 58 years!

You really need to get help. It has been months since MM left you, it is time to look for a new love in your life. Stop the fantasising, he's not coming back to you, he has moved on, it's time for you to do the same and give us all a break.

Errrrr we don’t know what Hurst is yet, he’s only had 7 games, and despite us being bottom and just put in a terrible performance, there have still been sections of play and performances from players (Edwards and Toto especially) that have shown promise.
We had nearly 2 whole seasons of very poor football from Mick from which to judge that his system and ideas were creaking. Albeit Dino is a bit silly.
If we put in a good performance in the next two games, which included our first win, would you be happier?
