Am I the only person drawing a comparison with this season to the end of Magilton & Keane’s first season in charge of us?
I do feel that the damage being done isn’t quite as deep rooted as what Keane inflicted, but I can’t help but compare the 2 with results, playing style and treatment of past star goalkeepers.
Then you have the fact that the previous managers were hounded out when clearly there was no need. Both Magilton & McCarthy’s times were up, but a section of our fans (plus a part of the media) decided to compound it and turn it nasty. |  | | |  |

I'd argue 3-0 defeats at home hammered the final nail/s into Magilton's and McCarthy's coffins here, to Doncaster and Hull respectively. The fanbase had already turned on both but there was no coming back for either from that. |  |
