Big Decision Coming Up... 22:38 - Sep 18 with 12344 views | Binner | With Nsiala now available who will be in central defence against Bolton? I would be loath to leave out Chambers. In our present predicament we need his leadership and experience on the pitch. Since his arrival Pennington has done enough to retain his place. Nsiala was playing well and looking as solid as any of our defenders before his (unlucky) suspension. I wouldn't want Chambers to return to right back and, in any case, Donacien is showing signs of making that spot his own. I don't think playing five across the back suits our squad so I would probably, reluctantly, leave Nsiala on the bench though I would first give it a good deal of thought. Any other suggestions?

HEs not as rash either. | | | |
Big Decision Coming Up... on 22:44 - Sep 18 with 5533 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I haven't been so impressed with Pennington personally. I would tend towards Nsiala in for him. I wonder if he tried 3 at the back today with a view to going 3 at the back with Donacien and Knudsen outside them. Might work better than the system did today but I suspect how poor it was will deter him from trying it again. The other concern I have is that he only brought Donacien in because Walters was out. He needs to leave another one out than Donacien because Spence has not done well recently.

Really? I thought he has looked pretty decent in the two home games I’ve seen.

He gave the ball away dangerously when out of position several times in that first half, that was pretty rash.

I went through the same thought process as your 2nd paragraph and agree with your third.

He was ropey first half today. He was at fault for Hull's first goal on Saturday too. He's decent defensively generally and was good against Norwich but then Nsiala has looked good too imo, slightly better overall.

You must’ve been watching a different game. He’s been excellent, didn’t put a foot wrong again tonight

Except the several times first half when he was poor in possession and played us into trouble I agree.

Big Decision Coming Up... on 23:00 - Sep 18 with 5335 views | textbackup | I hate to say it, but Pennington (in the Norwich game and tonight) has been the better footballer and defender out of him and chambers, I get what chambers brings, and im not saying id drop him..... but pennington looks a really decent player and i'd be a bit annoyed to see him miss out

To be fair the whole team were ropey in the first half! Nsiala looks like he has a mistake or two in him as well. Not much in it for me but interesting to see which way Hurst goes.

Pennington my player of the match against Brentford, despite a couple of early mishaps. Nsiala to wait his time. Donacien is a must to play, very impressed with him.

I give up trying to understand what people see. Pennington has been absolutely immense since joining and people would drop him!

Big Decision Coming Up... on 06:34 - Sep 19 with 4972 views | brogansnose | Keep Chambers in with Pennington. We are in no position to keep trying out new things and rotating the squad and understandings need to be built. Tough on Nisiala but that's the way it is.
Big Decision Coming Up... on 06:44 - Sep 19 with 4952 views | Superfrans | Stick with it. Pennington and Chambers. No question. Changing to bring in Nsiala would be a huge error imho.

What?! He can't pass. He makes Chambo look like Maldini. He's a good defender but his passing is shocking.

He played well second half but there were better performers out there. First half he was very sloppy.

He’s not a ball player, but he’s no worse than Chambers.

On what I've seen so far Chambers is the more comfortable of the two with the ball at his feet, but neither are exactly John Stones. And I would mock any suggestion of Chambo playing in midfield so sticking Pennington in there would be a disaster.
