You've had 2 years to come up with a plan but you didn't take negotiations seriously or urgently. Instead you've been focusing on the "optics" back home.

You knew all along the timetable was about coming up with a plan in Autumn 2018 that the EU needed to agree to. Unfortunately, that was entirely beyond the competence or interests of you and your useless Brexit team.

Just resign.

Well, that will certainly be on the cards if this incompetent and self-serving shower continues.

We're seeing how much Westminster politicians are willing to screw over this country in order to maintain their personal and party political ambitions.

Yes, the EU is standing by Ireland as one of its members. That's one benefit of being part of a multi-national organisation.

I hope you're not making the mistake of thinking that the guiding principle in the tory party's approach to brexit is anything other than trying to keep their party together.

Exactly.

On a related note, nothing over the past two years gives me any confidence that we have the calibre of leaders and politicians to stand up for ourselves on our own merits. I think being part of the EU and the strong single market has shielded us from our own incompetence.

Im not defending her...

....but everyone else ran for the hills on the day of the vote and ever since, so at least she had the 'balls' to give it a go.

It was all very predictable that the negotiations would be a mess.

which will spectacularly backfire, when the EU say "sorry, you've already had your vote, just because you now say you want to stay, we dont really want you thanks" - either that or "youll need to re-negotiate coming back in our new terms"...

its not happening, we're leaving, deal with it.

I think it's a lack of brains rather than the presence of balls.

You can put her and her entire Brexit team led by the clownish Davis on the extreme left side of this graph.

its a thought that hasnt really been fully explored has it?

just because some people might now want to come back or stop us leaving, doesn't mean theyll have us back!!!

things are in motion for us leaving. i doubt it can now be (easily) reversed without agreeing to new t+c's! (which ultimately might be worse than either leaving or remaining!)

very interesting (i see the arcicle has only come out in the last 2 hours)

however, if that did happen - i do feel like it would be little like having a massive argument with your wife when shes caught you out. you might end up stay with her, but shes gonna be p1ssed off forever and make your life hell.

I'd put her on gardening leave and just let the departments of government run themselves. On the world stage, we should let the tiller go idle rather than having her steer us onto the rocks.

I don't think so. This set of useless politicians will be gone shortly and I don't believe there's any serious ill-will to the people of the UK.
