Showing some signs that there is an effective system and that things are moving in the right direction. An indication that the team are becoming a more cohesive and efficient unit.
If we play like that and draw/lose, it will be more encouraging than another poor, disjointed performance with just a couple of minutes decent play leading to an accidental win.
Tho even that kind of result may lead to a critical improvement in morale.
A settled side with no passengers in the squad (Spence, Graham) to name just two. Paul Hurst MUST embrace our best Academy players, some perhaps as starters Dozzell, Downes, Kenlock when fit come to mind, with Rowe as a hardworking/goalscoring winger well worth a place on the bench. Find your best team/formation and stick to it, stop chopping and changing from game to game. Realise that some of your good players from the past might not be as good as some of the young players that are here or that have been sent out on loan.

Improved performances and a couple of wins.
The funny thing is the performance have not been as woeful as many state, apart from Hull away and out complete inability to break down Bolton.
But the performance needs massive improvement in terms of pressing, energy, and how dynamic we are when we get in the final third. Unlike against Bolton we did get more bodies into the box and better crossing against Boro, but by then Boro where very deep and just have very good defenders. Stretching teams and then good delivery is key.
But of course, and surely? we have to cut out the individual errors, we started brightly against Boro (which people forget) it was a good first 10mins, Sky and BBC agreed and then we just lost shape a chasm between defence and midfield and an unlucky ricochet. But nothing can excuse Chambo's error and all the other errors from the likes of Bart, Knudsen and Nolan that have preceded.

Chambo's error was poor - but when Downing took possession, he was 40+ yards out and near the touchline. How on earth was he allowed to wander forward unchallenged before he had his shot?

Also Downing is all left foot, why didn't Chambo at least make him turn to his right foot?

He spent the whole 90 minutes drifting/cutting in on his left foot. I can only remember once where he was shown on to his right foot (which I think we successfully defended).

I'm still not sure what Chalobah was doing for either goal. First one he steps out and leaves half a pitch free behind him, second one he gets back but takes up no kind of position and turns his back on Downing.
Cutting out basic errors, looking organised defensively and from set pieces and creating some decent chances - and all game, not just for 15 minutes a agme
We need a win tomorrow, plus a full 60-75 minutes of sustained performance similar to the performances we were giving in patches early in the season to feel reasonably encouraged going into the international break.
I'll be honest, the faffing around in terms of team selection, the stories coming out of the club and the general poor performance (and, most importantly, lack of any consistent, cohesive system) over the past 3/4 games has left me with little faith in him now. But a win tomorrow (like the above) and following up such a performance in similar style after the break would begin to win me back over.
