Going to see ELO playing their home town of Birmingham on Friday. Should be a blast. Anyone else seen them on this latest tour?

Saw them in Amsterdam two or three years ago.

They were brilliant as expected.

Lucky sod. Who is in the Searchers now? Sweets for my sweet, and When you walk in the room played an awful lot on my juke box.

Saw them at UEA about 35 years ago. Way ahead of their time then - but I suspect others have caught up since!

Saw the last tour at the O2. Love ELO although Jeff Lynne isn't the most charismatic of front men!

Still got John NcNally who has been with them since the start and Frank Allen who has been with them since 1964 although when we saw them in Ipswich last year John McNally did not appear because he was ill.

Must have seen them about a dozen times over the years but tonight looks like being the last.

They came to Guernsey over 20 years ago and were great. Billy J Kramer was also on the bill. He was less than great!

Saw Billy J Kramer once on one of the many "60's" package tours that I have seen.

The Searchers never seem to put on a less than great set, very very professional but I suppose as this is their 6th decade they should be.

My wife is going to see Cliff Richard but about the 15th time next weekend.

I saw Cliff and (the then ) Drifters at The Gaumont around 1960 . They were actually a very good rock 'n roll band. Move it is the best Britisk rock 'n roll record imo

Glen Dale, one of the original Fortunes, was a close family friend. He passed away a few years ago but before that he was making a decent living in Tenerife on the entertainment circuit.

Yes, I think we agreed that either that or Shakin All Over.

I did see The Shadows once in summer season at Great Yarmouth in the very early 1960's-not sure if that was before or after Jet Harris and Tony Meehan left them.

I saw them in the early days, a couple of years ago the BBC did a program Mr Blue Sky's, plenty of chat very enjoyable but I've not been able to find it can anyone help?

As an aside, Mr Blue Sky on Brum's awful PA last weekend was the worst thing I heard until they equalised. Made me feel glad that while we do have a messy stand roof we can actually listen to all our crap pre-game tunes without our ears bleeding too badly.

Or maybe Ronaldo looks like a young Cliff Richard.

Just asked my wife and she thinks maybe there is a resemblance.

She also reckons that she has seen Cliff Richard more than 15 times.

Great show I thought, particularly The Searchers.

Loved John McNally doing Peggy Sue and Oh Boy.

Three things that I will now probably never see again:-

The Searchers

Talking of oldies but goodies, I finally got to see Gary Numan play live a couple of weeks ago in NYC exactly 40 years after he got his breakthrough. He was magnificent. I was blown away TBH.

Here's the "Numan family singers" section of the show featuring a duet between Gary and his 13 year old daughter Persia.
