Hello everyone, unfortunately my dad who regularly posted on these forums under the name JoeSoap passed away this morning surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He spent many happy hours on the site and I'm sure many of you will have already been aware of his condition.

Your dad was kind enough to read my columns regularly and he also told me he liked 'em. I'm incredibly sad at the news and, though i never met him, feel sure he'd have wanted to read the penultimate column tonight, so I dedicate it to his memory.
I was sorry to learn of your bereavement. Didn't know him personally but all the same offer sincere condolences to yourself and other family members. Life is never easy but stay strong, losing a parent is a torturous experience but you're among friends here. All the best.

I know what you are going through as I lost my dad 9 weeks ago unexpectedly. He didn't post on here but was a massive Town fan and I probably wouldn't have become one myself if it wasn't for him taking me to games.
