Found this under/behind a box in a cupboard, but unable to identify. Is it some kind of spider nest, or a sort of mildew? Each little "enclosure" is about 3 - 4mm long. The cupboard is very slightly damp (old house), but not wet.

Have now discovered two false widow (steatoda nobilis) spiders lurking around the room containing the cupboard. May have something to do with them.
