Second time in a year this has happened in Melford. I had a walk up there after work and a lot more of that wall has collapsed since that picture was taken.

You need a combination of Lovejoy and Bergerac for this one. Seriously though, this has been happening a lot, twice on your manor too
"And there have been other recent cases in the immediate area — two in Lavenham, two in Sudbury, in Great Cornard, in Clare and in Halstead." from this EADT article

This last one is a bit much because if anybody had been living upstairs with their bed by the window they would probably have had their brains stoved in by a digger.

Loverac?

Bergejoy?

According to Look East, the farmer whose JCB was nicked to carry out the raid got a message on his Farmers' WhatsApp group that his machine was in Melford High Street.

I heard tonight that they nicked one digger but it ran out of diesel so nicked another from a farm up Alpheton way. They must have some decent local knowledge to know where to nick the vehicles from.

My Dad had his truck nicked from the farm in Waldingfield (after they smashed their way into his house to find the keys) to be used in a ram raid in Dedham last year.

They're nicking stuff to order to do jobs like this - they had stolen plates from another truck of the same type and put them on his so they wouldn't get spotted on ANPR pulled over if he'd alerted the police straight away...

There's some brains behind this, targeting villages where there is little or no CCTV. They must have been checking out the village and local farms planning this for a while. Doesn't help that Sudbury Police Station is no more and everything comes out of Bury, so if anything happens like this they're long gone. The only time you see the old bill in the village is when they're parading about at the Street Fair.

If this is the one I'm aware of, it was only set up so they could communicate about who's had what nicked and to share info on suspicious behaviour...

So members of a WhatsApp group set up to stop stuff getting stolen, keep getting stuff stolen?

Sounds like one of the WhatsApp group is a bit dodgy.

Identical situation to what is happening around me, Farnham has lost its police station, they have to come from Guildford now.

My mate who lives in Little Totem had his American pick-up truck stolen, was used to carry away the cash machine, was then dumped & burnt out!
He had some info that it was a crew from the Braintree area.

Not sure about the brains thing tbh.

The approach just seems to be brute force and grab machine.

The one in the EofE CoOp in Lavenham had a sign on it for around 3 weeks saying it was Out of Order so reconnaissance certainly hadn't been on the agenda.

In that attempt they got the truck stuck on the steps inside the store and had to abandon it there too.
