He donated 2bn to charity during his lifetime and has said the majority of his 8bn will go to charity upon his death.

My best mate was diver leader on his boat for a couple of years.

A right few parties were had! Apparently he was a top bloke to the crews. Looked after them really well.

There was an interesting piece on him and Bill Gates on the Today program this morning. Apparently Gates tried to screw him over and get him out of the business after they had got their first big IBM contract.

In the sporting context he also bought Seattle Seahawks in 96 when they seemed on the verge of moving to LA. He ensured they stayed in Seattle and made some good appointments that brought some success in the last 30 years

He also did the same for Portland Trail Blazers as they were linked with moving location so has stabilized two very big/successful American sports teams and ensured they stayed in their home in the pacific north west.
