Downloading mine now so it’s ready tomorrow. Last year was the first year I haven’t bought it since I was 12, had to get it this time around with the youth players we have. Anyone else going to purchase?

CM2 for me.

I played it around my friends and was totally hooked. I can only remember one bad version in cm3.

Think I’m going to have to hold off as my laptop is soon going to pack up. I’m still just about playing FM18 on it, but I’ve got a good save going on that so should see me through until I get a new laptop and FM19.

Think I started on FM07, but played Championship Manager before that, and LMA Manager (what a game by the way) on the PS1 before CM as well!

Yep, CM2 for me too.

It used to take 1.5hrs on my 33MHz desktop to set up a new game, but boy was it worth it. Clive Tyldesley did the "commentary" I think, if memory serves?

Unfortunately life and work has stopped me from playing much since FM14/15.

Haven't bought it for a few years & I don't currently own a laptop as mine packed up a few years back & I never bothered to replace it.

I've tried the mobile version but it's horrendous, I got Portsmouth from L2 to Europa League within 5 seasons.

CM01/02 was the pinnacle imo. I've not bought Football Manager in years, it's still a good game but has got a bit needlessly complicated imo. And to be honest I don't know how any adult finds the time to play it.

Agree with you on the mobile version, can't stand it.

Yes! Played last night from when the BETA dropped until around midnight.
Only one signing Ashley Hunter from Fleetwood for 975k. Started the season well so far:

Ipswich 2-2 Blackburn
Rotherham 0-1 Ipswich
Bury 1-4 Ipswich
Ipswich 1-1 Villa
Derby 1-1 Ipswich
Sheff Wed 0-2 Ipswich
Peterbrough 0(p)-0- Ipswich
Ipswich 2-0 Norwich

Dozzell and Folami looking very good on it.

Poll: Was that the worst game you've been to? If not, what was?

Ha Ha yes I remember it being a complete mission getting a game set up. Used to have to set it up and then leave it alone for a couple of hours until it was ready.

Although I like the current games, nothing will beat the simplicity and magic of CM 97/98. It was so basic but addictive. You could get through a season in a few hours and all you had to worry about was setting a simple tactic and then signing players. Remember the "star" players, those 3 that would be highlighted to show they were the best players in the team. TWTD.

So unrealistic & for too easy.

Marc McNulty scored 30 goals for me in the Prem FFS.

Could well have been mate, I used to live and breathe it in those days!

I think we used to try and get it to work in Design Tech and Banno's Art classes too, ha!

The arrows on the tactical screen!

The pictures of the grounds in the background when you played that team, that's one i've always missed strangely, it gave you a real sense that you were playing at the ground.

Obviously Darren Bent has just been offered a contract.

Some of the staff available are ridiculous too.

As someone famous once answered the question ‘Can you get Ipswich Town promoted in two years’?

Think I've bought it every year since 01/02.

I'll end up buying it. I like the look of what they've done with tactics, not so sure about the micro-management that'll be involved with training though.

And it looks like they've at least reversed slightly the ridiculous stuff they did with Scouting last year. Why they thought that getting reports that you've requested bundled in with other stuff being a good idea is beyond me.

Training works really well.

Tactics are good. You can now select presets Tika Taka, Route One etc, with new features on how your players need to react whilst in and out of possession, it's decent, but quite hard to get your head around at first.

What team will you play as Callum? Oh, hang on...

Once the full game drops, I'll probably do a save with Salford City.
Good investment, good squad, no history.

I've only owned and played FM15, FM17 and FM18 but my laptop isn't quite up to it anymore. I'm currently in the process of redecorating my room after which I'll finish building my gaming PC and get FM19 then, fingers crossed.
