I’ve always felt sorry towards him as well as the Liberal Democratics. He’s not the first, and won’t be the last politician to backtrack on their pledges but he seemed to have received a lot more criticism than most

Probably because he went back on one of his key polices in exchange in exchange for a referendum on an alternative voting system that he didn't even believe in himself and very, very little else.
