With the sacking of Paul Hurst and likely replacement, Paul Lambert, a couple of things that for me are quite important... Paul Hurst's inexperience at Championship level really did show up, especially noticeable on reflection. After Grimsby and Shrewsbury, we were by far the biggest club he's managed and his experience of that found him wanting. Paul Lambert does have experience of managing in the Premier League and at a lower level, he's worked at some big clubs - Aston Villa, Blackburn and Wolves (and Stoke, albeit for only 15 games) as well as some small clubs - Wycombe, Colchester, Norwich, so has a broader knowledge of working in different environments. The more I've come to accept it's likely to be him rather than my preference of Warburton, I think that experience is going to count massively if we're going to get out of the mess we're in at the moment. | |
