Was £30 per machine so £30 a bar - said there is currently one in each stand.

Just a few questions above, the new manager who's been tasked with pulling us out of the mire, asked for everyone to pull together.
But, as usual, our lot have to find the stupidest thing to moan about.

Friendly with West Ham stood out regarding this. A good 20 people dropped out of the que I was in and that’s easily £100 lost if not more. Surely they can see they would pay for themselves.

Didn't he mean to install them initially rather than the £30 per month?

He said to add them to everywhere in the ground would come at a huge cost because of the lack of existing infrastructure.

They have one per stand as a trial, each machine costs £30/month to operate.

I think a lot of it boils down to the stadium design, and lack of use on non-matchdays. There are so many separate bars, and in reality they are in use for 2 hours twice a month.

They could do things a lot better though - advertise bars as cash ionly or card only, have an ordering system which would allow greater volume to get through it at busy times.

Ah, you mean card machines in the bars.

What a total load of nonsense, you can get an iZettle for next to nothing (other brands are available) and have one in every bar. The missus got one just to sell art at one single event last year - they basically cost nothing.

Ridiculous statement - I'm with Libby on this one - totally tinpot.

WiFi or a mobile hotspot is more than enough to run an iZettle or equivalent.

It's a poor excuse, ground-wide internet would cost very little anyway, few thousand maybe. It's very poor from a club like ours.

There are 2/4 tills per bar aren’t there? So that’s 2/4 machines per bar.

Potentially 50-plus machines across the stadium?

But it’s not 1 x £30 machine per Stadium. It’s possibly more than 50 across the stadium, times 12 months.

So they are having a trial. Which seems entirely sensible.

I have and use an izettle, it cost me £25 for the reader which ties up to my phone, that's it aside from processing cost which is pretty minimal these days. I see the money in about 48 hours normally and I'm not a big user, I'm sure there are deals to be done.

Who even carries much cash these days with contactless available everywhere?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
