At the time my central locking wasn't working an you had to p1ss about with the key in a part of the inner door.
My mum's car was last driven by my dad who is a complete liability.
I know this doesn’t help now but even if it is a ball ache, surely it’s common sense to ensure your car is locked no matter where it is.. Especially if you’re holding valuables in it

None of the stuff was particularly valuable. Just trying to help people.
I would add that you should not put valuables from the car into the boot or rear of your car while in a car park or public place, often thieves watch car parks and see what you put out of sight.

J2 neglected to mention that it's an open top car.
Pronouns: He/Him/His.
"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."
It's really not a nice feeling having someone go into your vehicle and steal things. Happened to me within 24 hours of getting my first car. Even 20-odd years later, I'm still cautious about where I park.
Sorry to hear this. But rule of thumb is to take valuables out of the car isn’t it?
None of this stuff was valuable. My kindle probably had a trade in value of about £10 without a charger or the box. The sunglasses were probably taken just in case they were designer. I assume it was dark and they were in a hurry. The sat nav was about £50 several years ago as far as I know.
I'm not looking for sympathy. I thought someone going round checking cars and stealing on an estate like Broke Hall was worth a post to warn people. Call me naive but it amazes me people will go round in the middle of the night and check random cars to see what they can steal. I really shouldn't be surprised at the reaction i'm getting.
I don't think it's been mentioned yet so I thought I'd point out that you really shouldn't be leaving valuables in an unlocked car and then expecting sympathy.
Foolish behaviour
My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Happened to me once.
Jacket stolen and boot broken into also and all my tools stolen.
Broad daylight in the middle of a car park.
Obviously all my own fault and not that of the thieving piece of low sh*t that broke in.
My mate who I go fishing with never locks his car and leaves glove box open, there's been a few break-ins to vehicles where the scum are just after anything, his theory is if they want to get in then you might as well make it so easy that they'll do no damage and find nothing..

I'm surprised these crimes still takes place with all this latest surveillance devices available. So many homes locally have those small cameras pointing at the front entrance/driveways. Recently my neighbor who I wasn't aware had installed one above her garage door, told me she knew which neighbors dog had pooped on her lawn in the dark!

I regularly leave left my car unlocked on the street through sheer absent mindedness and a couple of times I've got in to drive somewhere and then realised someone's been inside and rifled through the glove compartment. Even though there's nothing in the car to nick, it's still a pretty unpleasant feeling to realise that some arsewipe's been in it.
