A friend of mine left his life in London, working in the media industry, and relocated with his wife and kids to the Isle Of Skye about two years ago. They bought a piece of land, built their own house from scratch and (from his pictures on Facebook) it looks idyllic.
Obviously, not totally off-grid (or he wouldn't be able to post to Facebook) but it looks extremely appealling. |  |

To be honest, there are times when we're driving back from Cornwall when I could happily turn round, stay down there with my Kindle, my Amazon Video, Spotify and be just fine. Of course, I'd miss certain things, but I'd get over it. Having every day to myself would compensate for everything I would leave behind in London, not to mention the daily commute.

I could do that abroad, if I had a nice little holiday home with a pool, or access to a pool in a complex.
Far too complicated to do that currently but wouldn't rule it out at some point | |
