New policy on youngsters going out on loan 11:13 - Nov 19 with 925 viewsitfcjoe

Phil - can you maybe ask about this next time you speak to someone at the club.

Over the last few weeks we have sent the following players out, who are all still scholars (a couple of 3rd years)

Mitchell Ware to Haverhill Rovers
Henry Barley to Brantham AThletic
Thomas Hughes and Ryley Scott to Bury Town
Luca Vega to Lowestoft Town
Kian Ronan to Mildenhall Town

Normally loans to that level at this stage of the season are the first step to being released, but I don't see that with some of the names mentioned for a second being the case so a bit intrigued by it.

I imagine we are working towards something like this

1st year scholars - play for the U18s
2nd year scholars - Play for the U23s, or if not doing so then a loan to the non-league

Interested to know thoughts behind it all.

I will. I suspect it's an academy thing rather than a Paul Lambert initiative as some of them happened before or just as he was taking charge.

I think Lankester and McGavin were just an attempt to get some games when the season had effectively finished, and it worked well for them in what is a dead time of the season in the academy.

Just interesting for these moves to be happening at this time of the season
