Bart wasn't THAT bad, was he? Obvs the first goal was his error, but not sure he can be blamed for the 2nd or 3rd goals.

If that kind of goalkeeping pleases you, then fair enough. Very, very poor.

Confidence is at a all time low sadly.

Not forgetting of course that game Wednesday was going to be one of the easiest up to Christmas.

The players heads dropped, its very sad to see.

The goal that went in to his left post was easily saveable but he half pushed at it

He should have done better with the second one (along with several other players), it was well hit but it shouldn't really have gone in. No chance with the third.

Over all there was a lot to like on Wednesday, just that it counts for next to nothing after the way we conceded such poor goals.

And the first? Are you going to gloss over the one where he took the time and trouble to push a shot which was going wide into the goal?

At the end of his career, he'll still remember that goal. Zeki Fryers levels of incompetence.

Well, it's clear that was his fault as Illy said in his post.

Watching it again though, his initial failure to claim the cross was the bigger problem, he committed himself and failed, rather than the freakish pushing the ball in.

I agree, not sure he could really have been expected to save the 2nd as it was from so close in, the blame for that one lies squarely with Pennington for not sticking with his man.

He had no chance with the 3rd. What I would say though is that his body language exudes zero confidence right now, he looks like a keeper that expects to concede goals rather than keep clean sheets.

I agree with the lack of confidence he shows. The problem is if the keeper is out of form it affects the defence in front of him.
I imagine that P.L will have a talk to him in private, to find out what is going to be the best solution for the team going forward. It might be kinder for both Bart and his defence if he is given time off from the battle ahead of us.

Yeah the second in particular is down to Pennington, who switched off on Friday too.

After Gerken's "display" at Birmingham away, and Bart's loss of confidence, we haven't got much to choose from.

And Pennington needs to learn (and fast) from the woeful defending / marking he showed on Wednesday.

Spence is beyond help.

I really wouldn't be suprised if Lambert looks to get a goalie on loan from a Premiership team in January.

The sums it up quite nicely.

Apart from that (oh, and Knudsen's fascination with heading clearances into ur own box) we're looking good at the back

Was there a lot to like though? Skuse and Sears played well but we created very little, even the goals were half chances really. Defensively it was a shambles.

In fairness, the first goal was a very good one - a great, accurate pass from Skuse to Sears, good skill to control the ball and take the defenders on and a nice finish low in to the corner.

Agree that the second one was a series of poor half-chances that resulted in the ball falling to Freddie.
